2015 Competition

Congratulations! 2015 Competition

The John Molson School of Business, Concordia University in Montreal, held its 34th annual International MBA Case Competition in early January 2015. Two hundred and seventy judges assessed 36 MBA school teams from 14 countries including Canada and the USA,  as well as many from Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Competing on 5 complex cases available in French or English only, the MBA student teams were required to demonstrate their depth of knowledge of critical business functions and industry sectors with 2.5 hours of preparation time without the benefit of internet access.  In a short 20- 30 minute ppt, all teams demonstrated outstanding business analysis, professional presentation skills and exemplary team dynamics.  The judges more often than not had a difficult time deliberating on which team had excelled. Special kudos to those whose first language was neither French nor English.

After the 5 cases and 4.5 grueling days of competition, each time facing judging panels of 4-6 highly experienced and senior business leaders, nine teams were chosen for the semi-finals and 3 went onto the finals. On January 9th, the winning team received $10K in prize money, with those in second and third place  receiving $7K and $5K respectively. 2015 Congratulations go to the Nanyang Business School from Singapore, with second and third places to Porto Business School (Portugal) and Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina (USA).
